Juan Posada, a board-certified physician assistant, has joined the staff at Elliot Hospital as a hospitalist.

Posada earned a Master of Public Health at the University of New Hampshire in Manchester and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Manchester. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of New Hampshire, Manchester.

“I made a commitment to become a P.A. after serving in the U.S. Navy, where I got the best care and impression of healthcare,” Posada says. “I had a deep desire to care for people in their worst moments.”

He is particularly interested in treating internal medicine inpatients, as well as patients with cardiology and psychiatric concerns.

Posada described the ideal patient-provider relationship as one in which there is a mutual respect and understanding from each other’s perspectives. “It is a collaboration effort that aims to address each individual patient’s concerns and goals,” he says.

In his free time, he enjoys physical training, especially running, and playing the guitar. Posada also has an interest in exploring “the carbon footprint of healthcare facilities and how to make the facilities more sustainable and environmentally friendly.”
