About Jessica A Sutherland, MD

Jessica A. Sutherland, MD, FACC, a board-certified cardiologist, earned a Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science in pre-professional studies from University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. She is one of the few female interventional cardiologists in the Manchester area, offering a unique perspective to heart care and interventional procedures.

Dr. Sutherland completed her internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as her cardiovascular fellowship, at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. She completed her interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Sutherland specializes in coronary disease and myocardial infarction. Her training allows her to perform procedures that help diagnose and treat acute heart attacks and symptoms associated with coronary artery disease.

As a cardiologist, Dr. Sutherland believes in providing high-quality care with compassion. She says, “I try to treat my patients and their families like I would my own. Being an interventionalist means that I frequently meet patients and their families during some of their most difficult health moments. My goal is to provide the highest quality of care in a compassionate and supportive manner, not only during our initial encounter, but also in the days, weeks, and months that follow. While it is certainly an incredible feeling to be part of the team performing life-altering procedures, I also very much enjoy building long-term relationships with my patients to aid in their recovery and help reduce future risk.”

In her previous work as an interventional cardiologist at Exeter Hospital, Dr. Sutherland served as the Division Chief of Medicine and the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.

Outside of work, Dr. Sutherland enjoys gardening, skiing, traveling, birdwatching, spending time with her family and friends, and working with animal rescue organizations. Dr. Sutherland and her husband have five rescue dogs and foster when they can.
