About Kanwal Anwar, MD

Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Dr. Anwar received her medical degree from University Medical & Dental College, Pakistan. Previously, she served at MGB Physicians Organization/North Shore Physicians Group as an endocrinologist. Dr. Anwar completed endocrinology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA and internal medicine residency at MGB Salem Hospital in Salem, MA. 

Dr. Anwar's expertise includes general endocrinology, transgender health, diabetes, and osteoporosis. She co-founded and led a pioneering multidisciplinary transgender health program in Beverly, MA, providing comprehensive care. Her academic experience includes serving as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, as well as Core Faculty and Subspecialty Education Coordinator for Endocrinology in the internal medicine residency program at MGB Salem Hospital. She is dedicated to patient care, medical education, and advancing endocrinology practice.

Outside of work, Dr. Anwar spends time with her husband and toddler, finding joy in the balance between her medical career and family life. She is passionate about cooking and enjoys fusion of different cuisines, dreaming of opening a restaurant one day.
