About Elise K Gates, MD

Dr. Gates joined Elliot Breast Health Center in January 2019. After earning her undergraduate degree at Hamilton College and her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, she completed her general surgery training at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts followed by a breast surgery fellowship at the University of Massachusetts. She comes to us from Connecticut where she was a breast surgeon for several years and where she was an assistant professor and served as the breast surgery service chief for The University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She was also the physician specialty director of patient experience for Hartford Healthcare Medical Group after earning her certification in patient experience. Dr. Gates is board-certified by the American Board of Surgeons; she is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Member of The American Society of Breast Surgeons, and The Society of Surgical Oncology. She is also certified in the Hidden Scar Technique.
