To make your visit as easy as possible, we offer on-site laboratory services and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays and CT scans. Most test results and radiologist interpretations are available during your visit. We can fill any new prescriptions for medication and durable medical equipment. With your permission, we’ll send a summary of your visit directly to your primary care provider or specialist to ensure you get the follow-up care you need. If indicated, we can even help make you a follow-up appointment with any of our specialty providers.

Such symptoms include chest pains, severe abdominal pain, multiple injuries, breathing difficulties, deep cuts, bleeding that will not stop, coughing or vomiting blood, severe burns, or potential labor.

Elliot Urgent Care accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, as well as self-pay options.
As an Elliot Urgent Care Center patient, you will receive two bills – one from the Elliot Hospital for services rendered at Urgent Care, and one from Elliot Emergency Medical Services for the provider who evaluated and treated you.

Coverage for services at Urgent Care vary by insurance plan and you may be required to meet your annual deductibles before your insurance company will pay for the healthcare services you receive. Your insurance company may also require you to pay a percentage of the bill, called “co-insurance” in addition to a “co-pay”.
We recommend that you review your insurance benefits or contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage and identify any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur. The contact information for your insurance company is located on the back of your insurance card.

Elliot Urgent Care treats non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, such as sprain, fractures, colds and flu, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and cuts or burns. Unless they have scheduled an appointment online, in most cases patients are seen in the order they arrive, typically making wait time shorter than in the emergency room.
The emergency room prioritizes patients based on the severity of their condition, not when they arrive. Emergency rooms are equipped to provide life-saving treatments, and patients with the most serious conditions are seen first. This ensures that those with the most urgent medical needs receive the care they need as quickly as possible.

No. You do not need to make an appointment to be seen at Urgent Care. However, for your convenience, online check-in is offered by Elliot Urgent Care centers. This allows you to reserve your spot in line before arriving at the center. You can check in online and receive your estimated wait time and place in line to help plan your visit. This service makes it easy for you to get the care you need without having to wait for longer periods of time.
The wait time to be seen at an Elliot Urgent Care center varies, depending on the time of day and the number of patients in line. However, most patients are seen within 20 minutes of their arrival.

A follow-up with your primary care physician after an urgent care visit is not always necessary and the provider will specify any recommended follow-up. In addition, if you are an Elliot Health System patient, your electronic medical record will be updated automatically, and you and your Elliot providers can access it through MyChart. A summary of your visit will be sent to your PCP after the visit if your PCP is outside the Elliot network, provided you have shared your PCP with us during registration.
Elliot Urgent Care is open to the public. You do not have to be an Elliot Health System patient.
Elliot Urgent Care centers are all staffed by board-certified emergency room physicians, nurses, and specialized clinical staff. In addition, Elliot Urgent Care is integrated with Elliot Health System’s electronic medical records system, allowing your other Elliot providers to have access to your visit information. You have access to more specialized services such as imaging and lab services with Elliot Urgent Care.
Many private urgent care centers are only required to have one board-certified physician on call in the region and are typically staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants as well as having more limited services. If they are unable to treat you in their facility, they may refer you to visit one of the hospital-run urgent care facilities.
