The Elliot Rehabilitation Services team is dedicated to assist injured workers back to full recovery following a work-related injury. Work Conditioning and FCE’s are important components to the rehabilitation process. We are committed to offering the best quality healthcare to the injured worker while being responsible to the employer for cost effective treatment.
With education and guidance, the medical provider, employer and employee can often collaborate to modify work status to assure productivity while the injured worker is engaged, improving the likelihood of a successful return to full duty. Modifications in duty might include changes to their environment, duties, or schedule.
Industrial Rehabilitation focuses on the prevention and recovery of injuries sustained in the workplace. Work-related injuries can vary from acute traumatic events to postural stress from sustained positions or repetitive motion.
Treatment often begins with a referral to occupational or physical therapy to treat the acute injury. For more involved cases, the patient is often referred to Work Conditioning to ensure their whole body is prepared to return to work, especially in the case of an extended time out-of-work.
An individualized plan of care will be established and a plan to maximize recovery. Industrial rehabilitation may also include:
Our Industrial Rehabilitation team is well versed in the treatment of work injuries. They have experience working with employees/employers to overcome the issues related to returning to full duty work. We have specialized equipment, including two computerized BTEs (Baltimore Therapy Equipment Work Simulators) to customize testing and treatment to match work tasks. Our department also has equipment to simulate work tasks, such as: boxes, crates, trays, plywood, two-wheeler, broom, etc. Our goal is to transition the injured worker back to their prior level as fast and as efficiently as possible.
