There is flexibility within the rotation schedule to match residents with their areas of interest. Each resident will complete all of the required rotations as well as participate in longitudinal experiences.
Required Core Rotations
Each resident will spend five weeks in each of the following required core rotations unless otherwise specified:
- Orientation (six weeks)
- Ambulatory Care I
- Infectious Disease
- Critical Care I
- Internal Medicine I
- Internal Medicine II
- Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care
Longitudinal Experiences
Required: Each resident will participate in the following longitudinal rotations:
- Residency Research Project (12 months)
- Staffing (11.5 months)
- Teaching (for the teaching certificate program with MCPHS) (10.5 months)
- Practice Management (11 weeks)
- Nutrition Support (11 weeks)
- Medication Safety (11 weeks)
Electives
Elective experiences (five weeks each) include — but are not limited to — the below. Residents will select two of the following:
- Ambulatory Care II
- Antimicrobial Stewardship
- Critical Care II
- Surgical Services
- Oncology
