Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Working with a team of healthcare professionals, our pulmonary rehabilitation program provides the participant and their family with information and support to meet the day-to-day challenges of living with a chronic lung disorder.

What is Pulmonary Rehabilitation?

Pulmonary Rehabilitation (PR) is a program for people with an ongoing breathing problems or conditions that impact daily activities. Conditions such as chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung disease/pulmonary fibrosis (ILD/IPF), cystic fibrosis (CF), pulmonary hypertension, chest wall and neuromuscular diseases, before and after thoracic or abdominal surgery are scopes of pulmonary rehabilitation.

Our individual tailored treatment plans consist of education to aid in controlling/managing symptoms, exercise training, breathing strategies/energy conservation techniques, nutritional and psychological counseling. Pulmonary Rehabilitation promotes the achievement of independence and health related quality of life and may decrease hospitalizations.
