For many years, the team at GSPH has been a President’s Society donor to The Elliot, supporting the Hope is Here Campaign for the Cancer Center. Most recently, they have directed their donations to program needs in the Emergency Department and for the Dementia Care program.

The Elliot Hospital Helped Save My Dad's Life
In November 2022, Syd Thomson wasn’t feeling well and received an alert from his Apple Watch indicating that his resting heart rate had spiked to a dangerous level. He made the decision to immediately head to the emergency room at the Elliot Hospital.

Community Support for Breast Health
Since November 2014, Jackie has been handcrafting bags from her home for each new patient that walks through The Elliot Breast Health Center. She began making these bags when she heard her friend’s daughter had breast cancer and received her care at The Elliot. Since 2014, Jackie has made 810 bags for the center, totaling 2,430 hours, roughly 102 days of bag making.

Celebrating Milestones Through Inspired Giving
Renee and Cam Geddes celebrated their daughter Mila’s first birthday with a party fit for a princess! Wanting to pay it forward and give back to The Elliot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), they requested that in lieu of gifts, donations be made in Mila’s name to the NICU and raised over $2,000 for the department that they credit with saving her life.
