Harris Cyrille: First to Complete Licensed Nursing Assistant Certification with Help of Elliot Health System’s Granite State PARTNERS Program

Meet Harris Cyrille, the first person to successfully complete a program with the support of the Elliot Hospital’s Granite State Partners Program and earn his licensed nursing assistant (LNA) certification through LNA Health Careers. Harris’s journey to this achievement is one of determination, compassion, and a strong desire to make a difference in healthcare.

Granite State P.A.R.T.N.E.R.S. (People Aligning Resources Towards Nursing Expansion and Retention Strategies) is a federally funded initiative led by Elliot Health System to address the nursing shortage and ensure a stronger healthcare workforce in New Hampshire. In collaboration with state, educational, and community partners, the program aims to enroll 300 new individuals from diverse, underserved, and underrepresented backgrounds into the nursing pipeline and support opportunities for career advancement and workforce growth in healthcare across the state. For Harris, this presented an opportunity to advance his lifelong passion for helping those in need.

Originally from Liberia, Harris arrived in the U.S. in 2024. In Africa, he successfully earned a bachelor’s degree in business. He then worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), where he had the opportunity to serve women, children, and individuals with disabilities in remote villages. In his role, he helped in countless ways and was instrumental in distributing malaria prevention nets. These experiences shaped his deep passion for helping others.

Upon arriving in the U.S., Harris knew he wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, driven by the belief that it is the most essential need for all individuals. His “can do” spirit and determination have fueled his success, proving that all things are possible when you put your mind to it.

In a heartfelt thank-you letter to the Granite State Partners Program, Harris expressed his deep gratitude for the scholarship that helped him complete the LNA Health Career Program. He wrote:

“I come with a heart full of gratitude for the incredible scholarship opportunity provided by the Granite State Partners Scholarship Award. This scholarship has been a beacon of hope and a light in the darkness for me. I am incredibly honored to be one of the students chosen to receive this scholarship, and I am deeply grateful for your support in furthering the education of students like myself.

“Thanks to your generous scholarship, I have had the opportunity to graduate from the LNA Health Career Program and pass the state test of New Hampshire. I am now eagerly awaiting my LNA license from the state. This scholarship has lifted a significant financial burden off my shoulders, allowing me to focus entirely on my studies. This focus has enhanced my ability to achieve my dream of becoming a registered nurse in the future.

“I am passionate about living a life dedicated to the service of others. The knowledge and skills I have acquired from the LNA certificate program have prepared me to make meaningful contributions to healthcare environments. The scholarship, for me, is not just a reduction in financial stress; it is a profound trust you have placed in me to secure a bright future. This trust motivates me to work harder and become the best nurse assistant I can be.

“I am deeply grateful to God for the existence of people who believe in their fellow humans. I am thankful that I had the chance to meet people like you who make such opportunities possible.

“I promise to make the most of the opportunity you have given me and strive to become the person I aim to be. I hope one day I will be able to give back to others and provide opportunities just as you have generously done for me. Thank you once again for your unwavering support.”

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Harris as the first person to complete and earn healthcare credentials through the Granite State Partners Program. His journey is a true testament to resilience and the pursuit of dreams that make a meaningful difference. With his unwavering dedication and the support of Granite State P.A.R.T.N.E.R.S., we are confident Harris will continue to excel in healthcare and beyond.
