The Elliot Receives DNV Primary Stroke Certification

We are proud to announce that Elliot Health System has officially received Primary Stroke Center Certification from DNV. DNV is a global independent certification, assurance and risk management provider, operating in more than 100 countries. Elliot maintains hospital accreditation through DNV and has been a DNV certified Orthopaedic Center of Excellence since 2020. We are pleased to add Primary Stroke Center designation to our expanding portfolio of awards and accreditations.

A Primary Stroke Center (PSC) must demonstrate high quality and safe patient care by providing 24-hour access to an expert clinical team, diagnostics, and resources to stabilize and treat emergent stroke patients.  A PSC is able to treat a broad range of stroke conditions, provide acute therapy, and admit patients to specific stroke beds or units for ongoing excellent care. A PSC is committed to community education and stroke prevention and may also act as a resource center for other medical facilities in the region.

Elliot Health System President & CEO Dr. Greg Baxter said, “This recognition is more than a certification, it reflects our shared commitment to inspire, heal, and serve, as well as our unwavering dedication to becoming a comprehensive health system that delivers confident, high-quality care to every patient, every time. It speaks to how we continuously strive to improve, embracing new opportunities to elevate the care we provide and reaffirming our place as a trusted partner in health for the community we serve.”
