The Elliot Provides New Equipment to Manchester Fire Department to Expand Advanced Life Support
Delivering on its mission to care for our community, The Elliot is proud to help expand advanced life support capabilities for Manchester Fire Department with a donation of a Physio-Control LifePak 15 cardiac monitor/defibrillator. The equipment will be made available on Engine Company 3, which is often located in the south part of Manchester and is furthest away from acute care centers. Every member of this engine is now trained as an advanced EMT or paramedic.
Ryan Cashin, Chief of Manchester Fire Department, said, “We want to be sure that the citizens and visitors of the city of Manchester are protected and have the best care possible. We have seen a dramatic increase in calls for help, and we are dealing with seconds in many cases, and each second matters. This donation from The Elliot of a cardiac monitor/defibrillator will aid in the provision of advanced level cardiac care in our community. On behalf of our entire department, we are greatly appreciative to The Elliot for helping our department to provide advanced life support.”
“Deciding to make this donation was easy because of the commitment the Manchester Fire Department has made to enhancing its skillset. This level of care, before patients arrive at The Elliot, is essential—it’s an extension of our 24/7 trauma and cardiac support for the community,” said Tate Curti, Chief Operating Officer of Elliot Health System. “We are thankful to be a part of enhancing the care that is provided in our community, and we are grateful for the service of our Manchester Fire Department.”
