Elliot Hospital Named “Most Engaged Critical Care Team” by New England Donor Services
On March 11th, the Critical Care Team at Elliot Hospital was recognized by New England Donor Services for their outstanding dedication to the mission of organ and tissue donation. New England Donor Services completed an internal nomination and voting process.
New England Donor Services expressed their deepest gratitude for the care and compassion provided to the donors and their families. “The collaboration between the ICU team at Elliot Hospital and New England Donor Services is the reason why 13 potential organ donor families said yes to organ donation resulting in 25 lifesaving organ transplants in 2024,” said Julie King, donation strategist with New England Donor Services.
According to NEDS, in 2024 the New England service area had 648 organ donors that went on to save countless lives with 1,570 organs transplanted, and 307 organs accepted for research projects that will allow for thousands of lives to be saved in the future.
