One Elliot Way
Manchester, NH 03103
The mission of The Elliot Trauma Center is to provide immediate care and on-going intervention to patients suffering from a critical condition. It is very often the first contact a patient will have with The Elliot with the sudden onset of serious illness or traumatic injury. The Trauma Center team consists of specialists in nearly 20 disciplines that respond upon notification by EMS prior to the patient reaching the hospital. In consultation with the Emergency Department physician, first responders will begin procedures prior to arrival at the hospital. Other patients arrive for care as "walk-ins" or with the assistance of family or friends.
The Elliot Trauma Center provides twenty-four hour a day critical care services to Manchester and surrounding areas. The Elliot therefore serves as a community resource and referral center for all regional trauma related cases and serves a vast number of patients(see MGH Collaboration). Approximately 800 major trauma cases are seen each year. As a reflection of its size and depth of resources, The Elliot Trauma Center is designated by the state of New Hampshire as a Level lI facility. This means it conforms to standards defined by the American College of Surgeons, and sanctioned by state-level boards and departments of health.
