The Performance Improvement Department is dedicated to improving quality throughout the Elliot Health System. We believe that quality is a continuous endeavor, requiring the evaluation of community needs and optimization of resources to deliver the best and safest care possible. Our patients expect and deserve the best medical knowledge and experience available. As an organization, we have committed to implementing innovative technologies, recruiting and retaining highly skilled and compassionate staff, developing programs to promote wellness in the community and improving the processes for delivering care. We monitor compliance with evidence-based processes known to enhance positive outcomes, evaluate our performance, and identify opportunities to improve reliability and excellence.

  • Participation in CMS Hospital Quality Initiative and National Patient Safety Goals
  • Involvement in IHI Save 100K Lives Campaign
  • Accreditation by the The Joint Commission (TJC)
  • Hospital-wide implementation of an electronic patient record to enhance continuity of care and communication of healthcare information.

The Performance Improvement Department also works with the Patient Relations Program to manage concerns and grievances from patients, their families, and other healthcare consumers. Once concerns are shared, they are thoroughly reviewed.

The goal of the Patient Relations Program is to ensure that the Elliot Health System is responsive to the needs and concerns of our patients and community. All feedback is used for continuous evaluation to enhance safety and quality of care.
