Quality & Safety at Elliot Health System

Quality Reports

At Elliot Hospital we continuously monitor our performance and make improvements to deliver the highest quality services to our community. We participate in reporting quality measures for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and the surgical care improvement program. The scores provided reflect our performance for the most recent quarter as well as comparative data as appears on www.nhqualitycare.org

Patients who got treatment to prevent blood clots on the day of or day after hospital admission or surgery

Higher percentages are better

Patients with blood clots who were discharged on a blood thinner medicine and received written instructions about that medicine

Higher percentages are better

Ischemic stroke patients who got medicine to break up a blood clot within 3 hours after symptoms started

Higher percentages are better

Average time patients spent in the emergency department, after the doctor decided to admit them as an inpatient before leaving the emergency department for their inpatient room

A lower number of minutes is better

Patient Satisfaction

The Elliot Hospital is committed to meeting or exceeding expectations and creating an exceptional experience for the patient and their family.  Our goal is to provide the best possible personal service.   To monitor achievement of this goal, Elliot Hospital patients receive a survey designed to measure their satisfaction with the care and services provided to them.  Our patients provide us with valuable feedback that we use to improve our services in the hospital as well as services within the community.

Elliot Hospital contracts with an independent, private market research company to conduct patient satisfaction surveys.   Individual survey responses are confidential, and patients are not identified unless they wish to be contacted for further information. Results are, however, distributed to all hospital department directors, managers and physicians to ensure continuous quality improvement. You can view our latest Survey of Patients' Hospital Experience (HCAHPS)scores as well as comparative data on www.nhqualitycare.org.
