Robotic surgery, or robot-assisted surgery, allows surgeons to perform a variety of procedures with enhanced precision, flexibility, and control compared to conventional surgical techniques.
Overview
At The Elliot, we have robotic platforms to assist in the performance of surgeries for orthopaedics (Mako SmartRobotics™) for total and partial knee replacement and hip replacement, general surgery, gynecology, urology, and thoracic surgery (Intuitive Surgical’s daVinci Xi Surgical System) for a variety of minimally invasive procedures, and urology (Aquablation Therapy) for the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy.
Robotic surgery is typically minimally invasive, the benefits of which include, but are not limited to:

Having minimally invasive surgery may result in less pain and scarring, a faster recovery, and either a shorter stay in the hospital, or, even more often, a surgery done on an outpatient basis.
