About Our Staff

Certified in diabetes education, our nurses and dietitians have many years of experience and are actively involved in professional organizations committed to patient advocacy. We are dedicated to the advancement of patient education and are strong proponents of increased funding for diabetes research.

Vipra Rai, MS, RD, LD, CDE

Vipra Rai is the Manager of Center for Diabetes Management and Advanced Nutrition Therapy for the Elliot Health System.  Her areas of responsibility include: Diabetes Management & Education Services, Outpatient Nutrition Services and Wellness related Nutrition programs at the Elliot.  She is a registered dietitian, licensed in the State of NH and a Board Certified Diabetes Educator. In addition to her management role, she also provides nutrition counseling and Diabetes Education to patients. Vipra precepts the Outpatient Dietetic rotation for the Dietetic Internship program at UNH and Keene State College. She also provides a seminar on Diabetes for the UNH Dietetic Interns during their clinical rotation.

Vipra achieved her Bachelor & Masters of Science in Food and Nutrition from the Maharaja Sayaji Rao University in Baroda, India.  She focused her research on the lipid profile and antioxidant levels in people with Type 2 Diabetes. Vipra completed her Dietetic Internship at the University of New Hampshire.  Her areas of interest include: Diabetes and Lipid management through Nutrition counseling, improve patient's quality of life through healthy nutrition & patient advocacy.

Linda Tate, MS, RD, LD

Linda is a Clinical Dietitian with the Elliot Center for Advanced Nutrition Therapy. She provides medical nutrition therapy for adults in many areas-including:  weight management, lipid disorders, and digestive diseases. She has worked with the Elliot Hospital Bariatric Surgery program affiliated with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Manchester since 2003. She has been with the Elliot Health System for over 10 years, formerly working as an Inpatient Clinical Dietitian and at Home Medical Equipment.

Linda earned a Master of Science degree in Nutrition at Framingham State University in Massachusetts and graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Durham with a Bachelor of Science degree. She has completed Adult Weight Management certifications with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, formerly the American Dietetic Association. She is a Registered Dietitian, member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and has held elected positions with the New Hampshire Affiliate of the Academy. She is a Licensed Dietitian in New Hampshire.

Marilyn Mills, MS, RD, LD, CDE

Marilyn is a Senior Clinical Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at the Elliot Hospital and Nutrition Coordinator in Manchester's Hannaford Supermarkets.  She enjoys bringing health and nutrition news to her patients and the community through individual counseling, group classes, in the aisles of Hannaford supermarket and also on WZID's FYI Mondays answering caller questions about food and nutrition. She has appeared on WMUR TV's Cook's Corner and provides nutrition counseling to the Cook Better Live Better at Elliot.

Marilyn obtained her Nutrition degree from Marymount College in N.Y. and her Masters in Human Nutrition from the University of New Haven in CT. She has over 20 years of clinical experience as a Licensed Dietitian providing nutrition therapy and diet counseling to the Greater Manchester community.  Her special interests include: diabetes management, child and adult obesity treatment, eating disorders and food allergies and celiac disease. 

Michelle Olsen, RD, LD

Michelle Olsen is a Clinical Outpatient Dietitian providing medical nutrition therapy at the Elliot Hospital and New Hampshire's Hospital for Children.  She is a registered dietitian and a licensed dietitian in the State of NH. Michelle graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences.  She specializes in pediatric nutrition, adult and childhood obesity, and the general diet management of cholesterol and insulin resistance.  Michelle's area of interest includes sports nutrition.


Sandra Sheeran, RN, BSN, CDE

Sandy is certified with the National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators and has been practicing as a Diabetes Educator since 2003.  She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  Her areas of expertise include: individual and group classes for adults with Type 1, Type 2, and Gestational diabetes according to the American Diabetes Association and American College of Endocrinology standards, insulin pump starts, with a significant emphasis on teaching patients to adjust insulin according to their blood glucose patterns. 

Sandy has a desire to educate health care professionals in the area of diabetes.  Since 2006, Sandy has been serving as a consultant to New Hampshire Diabetes Education program and Southern NH Area for Health Education Coalitions.  Her role with these programs is to develop and deliver programs for health care professionals in the area of diabetes.  She has developed a workshop for nurses and medical assistants for CE credit and is the Clinical Supervisor for a diabetes educator mentorship program in NH.

Shauna Lafond, RD, LD, CDE

Shauna is a Clinical Dietitian at the Elliot Center for Diabetes Management and Advanced Nutrition Therapy.  Her primary focus is nutritional counseling for diabetes as well as teaching Healthy Living and Weight Management classes.
Shauna earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Keene State College and completed her Dietetic Internship at Utah State University.  Before coming to the Elliot she worked at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, providing nutrition services for the medical units including ICU and the Newborn Intensive Care.  She is a Certified Diabetes Educator.  Her current areas of interest include: Diabetes and Weight Management, Cardiovascular Disease, Vegetarian Nutrition and Pediatric Nutrition.


Kristina Lloyd, RD, LD, CDE

Kristie is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at the Elliot Center for Diabetes Management.  Her primary responsibilities include dietary and self-management education to people with diabetes and weight control issues.  In addition, she has a wealth of experience counseling patients  with cardiovascular disease.  Kristie has worked as an inpatient Clinical Dietitian, a Clinical Nutrition Manager, and as a dietitian/diabetes educator in a private practice.  She has served on the local boards of the American Heart Association and has appeared on WMUR's Cook's Corner to discuss nutrition topics for runners.

Kristie obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition at the University of Tennessee and her Master's Degree in Exercise Science at the University of New Hampshire.  She has been a Registered Dietitian for over 30 years and became a Certified Diabetes Educator in 2007.

Her interests include running, and has completed four marathons and numerous half-marathons.  She also enjoys hiking and thru-hiked the 162-mile Cohos Trail in Northern New Hampshire.  She also enjoys bicycling, gardening, playing with her dog, and being mom to her son, Sam.


Elizabeth Boucher, RD, LD

Liz is a clinical dietitian at the Elliot’s Center for Advanced Nutrition Therapy and Diabetes Management.  She provides medical nutrition therapy to individuals with a variety of medical problems including weight management, gastrointestinal disorders, lipid disorders, diabetes, and women’s health and pregnancy. Liz is also a dietitian for Elliot’s Bariatric Program in affiliation with Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Manchester.

She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of New Hampshire. She went on to complete her dietetic internship through the University of Connecticut and Hartford Hospital. Following her internship, Liz worked as an inpatient, critical care dietitian at Mount Sinai-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, New York.  She is now working on obtaining her Master’s in Public Health- Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts.
