A tour of the Maternity Center for expectant parents who are not familiar with the Elliot Hospital.  To register for a Maternity Tour please call 663-4567


Care and Breastfeeding Your Newborn
This class for parents- to- be will focus on breastfeeding and caring for your new baby and your transition into parenthood.  Topics discussed include hospital newborn care and procedures, and learning about the appearance and behaviors of this brand new little person.  You’ll receive “tips” and “pearls of wisdom” to help in making those early days and weeks with your newborn less stressful. Our instructors will help you understand the benefits of breastfeeding, the basics of breastfeeding your baby, how to get off to a good start, and answer your questions about pumping and storing mother’s milk. 
This class is taught by a registered nurse and an internationally board certified lactation consultant.
Cost: 50$ per couple. 9am-1pm – Maternity Conference Room Elliot Hospital

Infant and Child CPR & SafetyIn this class you will be taught Infant and Child CPR techniques as well as safety issues specific to this age group. ***THIS IS NOT A CERTIFICATION CLASS*****

Sibling ClassThis class prepares children (2 ½ -9 YRS) on becoming a sibling. They will participate in activities to learn about the baby and their new role in the family. A tour of the Maternity Center is included.
9-10:30am class 5-9 year olds.  11am – 12pm class 2 ½ - 4 year olds.  Cost: $15.00 
Please bring a favorite doll or stuffed animal to class. Meet in main lobby of the hospital.

Gentle Yoga          
Designed to promote total health and well-being through stretching, strengthening and relaxing. This class uses breath and movement to feel the release of physical and mental tension and to increase body/mind awareness. Good for the beginner level participant. Tai Chi           
A Chinese martial art and form of stylized, meditative exercise, characterized by methodically slow circular and stretching movements and positions of bodily balance. Tai Chi will allow you to experience the ancient way to improve balance, strengthen the body, and cleanse the mind. Beginners welcome. Fit & Feisty           
A 60-minute low-impact aerobics and strength class with easy-to-follow moves in a fun environment. Includes aerobics and strength training utilizing free weights, resistance bands, and stability balls. Floor exercises, core work and stretching are also included. Full Body Fusion           
A fusion of strength training exercises using body weight and free weights, cardiovascular intervals utilizing steps, plyometrics, Yoga, Pilates, core work and stretching. Keeps your body guessing! Geared towards intermediate levels.

Thriving with Yoga           
Designed especially for those with the experience of cancer. It will empower you to: relieve tension and anxiety, rebuild strength and restore range of motion, witness emotion with compassion, and manage the side effects of treatment and medications naturally. This includes lymphedema, hot flashes, neuropathy, pain, depression and insomnia. You may bring a family member or friend to class. Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa (flow) yoga class encompasses Yoga stretches and poses (asanas) that combine strength, flexibility, mind-body awareness, relaxation, and fitness all in the same class. Body Sculpt
A total body toning class designed to strengthen and sculpt every muscle group utilizing free weights, resistance bands, and your own body weight. Chair Aerobics
This seated light to moderate intensity class consists of a variety of upper and lower body movements to increase cardiovascular endurance as well as strength and range of motion. Resistance bands and light weights are used

Heartsaver CPR - This course is designed to target all lay rescuers (school children, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death) and teach them basic life support for adults and pediatrics.  Learn the skills needed to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and relieving Foreign-body airway obstruction (choking).  Certification and AHA Textbook received.  Reading material is sent to your prior to the class once payment is received.  Cost:  $38.00

CENTER FOR ADVANCED NUTRITION THERAPY

Comprehensive Weight Management:
This 10 week program offers you an in-depth approach to nutrition management addressing both lifestyle and behavioural changes. You will learn about healthy eating and examine your emotional connection to eating while receiving support from your educators and fellow group members. A bio impedance analysis (BIA) and two private meetings (1st and last week) with a dietitian included. Please call 663-4LBI(4524) to register.  Cost: $175

Jump Start Your Health
– This 6 week program offers you healthy choices for disease prevention and maintenance. You will learn ways to make lifestyle changes that are customized to your personal needs. Two complimentary BIAs are included. This class requires a commitment to exercise and tracking food intake. Please call 663-4LBI(4524) to register. Cost: $125

LBI Support Group – This 1 hour support program includes weigh-in and an interactive session with a health professional to cover a variety of topics such as meal planning, cooking, shopping, exercise tips and more.  It is a support for people who would like to maintain their weight loss. BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES

Emotional Eating Group: Do you turn to food for c:omfort, stress relief, as a reward or even out of boredom? If so, you are an emotional eater. It isn’t all about willpower. Topics covered in this 10-week group for adults (ages 21 and over) include the brain’s reward system, how habits are formed and changed, how to identify and manage emotions without using food, mindful eating and how to manage stress.

Two groups will be held starting in April; Wednesday afternoon beginning April 8 through June 10 from 1:30- 3:00 and Thursday night beginning April 9 through June 11 from 6:00 – 7:30. Both will be held at 445 Cypress St., Suite 8, Manchester. A minimum of four people is necessary to run a group.

Most insurances including Medicaid are accepted. Due to licensing restrictions Medicare can only be accepted for the Wednesday group. If using self-pay, cost is $45 per session if paid in full on the day of each session or $60 per session.
