Pharmacy Residency Program

Participation requirements PGY-2


The resident will participate in the monthly Pediatric Medication Safety Committee and the Newborn ICU medication safety committee.  Every month, the resident will be responsible for taking minutes for the Pediatric Medication Safety Committee.  They will also be responsible for joining at least one other committee and will be required to attend meetings throughout the duration of the residency:
Examples include:
        Nursing Unit Staff Meetings
        Pediatric Operations Meetings
        Pediatric Transport Commiteee
        Pediatric ICU Collaborative Care Council
Conferences
The resident will attend both the Midyear Clinical Meeting and the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG) Annual Conference

Projects
At a minimum, the resident is required to complete the following during the course of the residency:
        Residency research project
        Presentation of results at PPAG
        Continuing Education Lecture to pharmacist staff (2)
        Physician In-service
        Nursing In-service (2)
        Pharmacist In-service (2)
        Journal Club (2)
        Drug Monograph (2)
        Newsletter article (2)
        Drug Use Evaluation
        Precept pharmacy student
        Drug Information Questions of the month (6)
        Creation of Pediatric specific medication guideline
        University of New England teaching certificate (optional)
        Massachusetts College of Pharmacy Lecture (optional)
