Elliot Hospital Thoracic Surgeon Emphasizes Importance of Lung Cancer Screening

Curtis Quinn, MD, thoracic surgeon at Elliot Hospital, recently appeared on the Your Wellness Solution podcast to share his knowledge and expertise on lung cancer. Dr. Quinn covered a variety of topics including the signs and symptoms of lung cancer, important screenings, and leading-edge treatment options.
While low-dose CT lung screening has become more common, Dr. Quinn asserts that it is still not applied broadly enough. He explains that, “about six percent of people throughout the United States that meet the criteria are getting screened… in the state of New Hampshire, we are the third best in the nation for screening our at-risk population, and we're still only screening 11 percent of the people in New Hampshire that could get one”.
