Elliot Health System Nurse is Honored with New Hampshire Magazine Excellence in Nursing Award
Elliot Health System is pleased to announce that Carol Long RN is receiving New Hampshire Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing Senior Nurse Leader Award for 2024. Each year, the awards from New Hampshire Magazine celebrate the very best in nursing to honor those who go above and beyond.
Carol currently serves as director of patient care services for Elliot Hospital. She has a long and esteemed nursing career, which progressed from a licensed practical nurse to obtaining her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. Her journey started 42 years ago and was made possible with steadfast determination, perseverance, and patience.
Carol is a respected leader. When mentoring other staff about venturing into the nursing field, she can give real life examples of what it takes to succeed in every step of the educational process from LPN, associates, bachelors, masters, and doctorate. She possesses a wealth of information and delivers her advice with encouragement, excitement, and a smile. She is supportive and encouraging of staff, and she is dedicated to continuing to increase positive patient outcomes and satisfaction. Carol continues to adapt and grow, as new technologies are available, and as patient needs change.
Carol said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion, and to know that I am making a difference in the lives of people in our communities. I truly believe that it’s an honor and privilege to do the work that I do. I am surrounded by supportive leadership and staff at The Elliot, who make this impactful work possible. I am humbled by this award and accept it with deep appreciation.”
