Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
We are proud to state that the Elliot Hospital Pain Management Center has successfully achieved certification from CARF (Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) since 2004. In having done so, they are the only pain management center in the state of New Hampshire and one of only two other centers in the entire northeast region to have achieved this status. CARF is a private, not-for-profit organization that promotes quality rehabilitation services that is delivered by an interdisciplinary team dedicated to the care and treatment of a patient with pain. This approach promotes enhanced communication between the patient and their family and this specialized team which consists of a physician or a nurse practitioner, a psychologist, certified nursing personnel, physical therapists and occupational therapists. It does this by establishing a comprehensive set of standards of quality for organizations to use as guidelines in developing and offering their programs or services to consumers. In order to maintain their certifications, CARF-accredited programs must participate in intense, onsite surveys to insure that these strict standards and guidelines, which are internationally recognized, are consistently upheld. CARF accreditation means that you can be confident that an organization has made a dedicated commitment to continually enhance the quality of its services and programs, and that its focus continues to be on consumer satisfaction.
