Because the unexpected can happen…

It is often a frightening and anxiety provoking time for a parent whenever a child requires admission to the hospital, however, these feelings are even more pronounced when that admission is to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). When a child is admitted to the PICU at New Hampshire’s Hospital for Children, families will feel the professional care, comfort and support of our specialized Pediatric Critical Care team. This specialized unit is one of only two PICUs in the state, and the only one located in Southern New Hampshire.

Just for children and families…

Our specialized staff understands that children are not just small adults and employs a multidisciplinary team specifically trained in the medical, emotional and developmental needs of children and their families. The Critical Care team is led by our Pediatric Intensivists, physicians specifically trained in the specialty of Pediatric Critical Care, and provide in-hospital around-the-clock monitoring and medical care.

In times of need…

Whether your child has a rare illness or a complex injury, you will find the most advanced care given from a professional team noted for their compassion, dedication and commitment.

Electronic Medical Records System

Utilizing our state of the art Electronic Medical Record System, each physician has complete patient data (immunizations, allergies, Lab results, etc.) at their fingertips to enable them to monitor your health needs more closely. If you call after hours, all physicians “on-call” can access this same information, thus providing excellent, all-inclusive care for our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This versatile Medical Record System also enables our office to electronically transmit prescriptions and refills directly to the pharmacy of your choice.

In addition, our office also has the facilities to take and process X-Rays and to draw most lab work right on site, offering our patients convenient and efficient health care.
