Because an infant’s initial hearing assessment may need a little more testing…New Hampshire Hospital for Children

Sometimes newborns will be referred for additional testing after their initial universal newborn hearing screening which is performed at area birthing centers and hospitals. This additional diagnostic screening is provided at New Hampshire’s Hospital for Children, Elliot Pediatric Audiology. According to data from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), 1 to 3 infants out of every 1,000 will have some type of permanent hearing loss. Early identification leads to early intervention, early intervention leads to better development of speech, language and literacy in children.

Designed for children and adolescents…

A Level I Pediatric Audiology Diagnostic Center structured and designed to care for both the family and patient with a staff who understand this testing. As well as providers who are skilled in advanced audiology diagnostic evaluations.

In times of need…

At New Hampshire’s Hospital for Children, our Pediatric Audiology program can help your child receive the best possible care. All close to home.
